ABOUT

STACY DEAN CAMPBELL has enjoyed a career in the entertainment industry for more than 30 years. He is an Emmy Award winning television host, director,

screenwriter, author, voiceover talent, and singer/songwriter.

 

Campbell’s career as an independent artist began in his early 20′s when he moved to Nashville and signed a contract to become a staff songwriter for the legendary music publishing house Sony/Tree. A recording contract soon followed and his firstalbum, Lonesome Wins Again was released on the Columbia Records/Sony roster alongside The Highwaymen, Rodney Crowell, Tammy Wynette and Willie Nelson. Campbell released a follow-up album, Hurt City on Columbia and four years later moved to the Warner Brothers label. With the move, Campbell shifted his focus and made an album that featured more of his songwriting. The result was Ashes of Old Love, which reached the #3 position on the Americana Music Chart.

 

After more than a decade in Nashville, Campbell made a surprising move, relocating to New Mexico to focus on writing of a different kind. His first novel, Cottonwood was soon published to much acclaim and a collection of short stories, essays & song lyrics entitled Rambling Heart has also been released.

Stacy Dean created, directed and hosted the two-time Emmy Award winning television series Bronco Roads, Life In The West and the acclaimed music series Troubadour, TX where he shared hosting duties with legendary American icon, Kris Kristofferson.

With a strong passion for film, Stacy Dean moved behind the camera to direct projects for artists the likes of Kris KristoffersonLeeAnn Womack and Eli Young Band among others, and his debut film, The Birth of Saint Eliseo - Protector de las Esposas, which he wrote and directed received much acclaim from several notable film festivals . 

Campbell has once again pointed his creative energies in a new direction... Screenwriting.  With writing credits on over 90 episodes of broadcast television and feature film scripts acquired by entities such as Sony Pictures, Stacy Dean continues to expand his voice as a storyteller.
